It's not easy to run a law firm, tend to a blossoming family, restore a 5,500+ sqft mansion and update a blog. Therefore, Brian has relinquished the blogging responsibility (at least temporarily) to me.
Where to begin? It has been nearly 5 months since the blog has been updated! Really since the birth of his daughter, Annika.
During that time there has been lots and lots of progress! So where to start?? Let's skip to the most recent project Brian and his crew have been working on.
Driveway Steps
Before
(If you look closely, you can see the remnants of what used to be steps leading up to the house.)
If you happened to drive by the house Tuesday, you may have seen these cement-dust-covered men putting in the steps next to the driveway on 9th street.
Yes, I too was impressed that you can cut cement and limestone with a saw! I don't know what I was expecting.. a chisel and hammer?
These stones look familiar to you?
Some of the steps are being cut from the limestone that used to be the steps at the corner of State St and 9th St. No, we did not purposefully demolish these steps. Their destruction was the result of an unfortunate car accident. No one was injured.
Brian plans to take advantage of the warm weather while it lasts and finish this project. If you go by the house this afternoon, you will most likely see him.
